At the Borders Seventeenth Calf Show at Carlisle on January 22nd, with  12 Males & 13 Females competing for both class and championship tickets the PENDLE herd achieved excellent reults from its team of three young calves, whose ages ranged from 8 to 10 months.

Both Issy and Thomas were in their usual roles exhibiting the cattle.

PENDLE KNOCK EM OUT, a heifer by Heros Du Peroy, one of Norbreck Genetics sires, out of a home bred cow Pendle E BY Gum by Blue Stone Union Jack came 1st in class 4 for heifer calves born between 01/03/2015 and 05/04/2015, before going on to take both the Female and Overall Championship tickets.

Pendle E By Gum was, herself, shown successfully as a maiden heifer.

PENDLE KRACKER, a natural born bull by Jalon De Martinpre and out of our home bred heifer Pendle Heather by Newton Blues Chico, came 2nd in class 2 for male calves born between 21/04/2015 and 30th/09/2015, before taking the Reserve Championship ticket.

Issy has had great success showing Heather over the years first as  a maiden heifer, then an incalf heifer and in 2015, with calf at foot, she took breed champion at Kilnsey show and reserve interbreed.

PENDLE KIWI, a naturally born heifer by Jalon De Martinpree and out of a home bred cow Pendle Glitzy by Greystone Bonzer, came 1st in class 5 for heifer calves born between 23/04/2015 and 02/09/2015 before taking the Reserve Championship ticket.

KRACKER and KIWI, both calves sired by Jalon De Martinpre, later joined forces to take the Progent Group Title.

The Pendle herd has been successful at the Borders Calf Show in earlier years with Pendle Catterpillar in 2008.
